We need your help to make this another amazing year at the South Bay Family Roundup! Baskets are usually prepared in a gift bag, box, etc. Coordinate with the speaker host/hostess so the baskets are given to the speaker upon their arrival.

The Host/Hostess will enthusiastically shake hands, greet, and hug people at the main doors to all events in the ballroom. Do a little crowd control ushering them into the room so aisles stay as clear as possible. Although we will have some security folks checking, if you see individuals without a badge, direct them back to registration.

There will be a table set up just inside the hotel entrance. We need volunteers for shifts to sit at the table over the course of the weekend and provide directions, information, answer questions, etc. We need both AA & Al-Anon members.

Work with the various committees to see if there is anything ahead of the roundup that they need transported, picked up, etc. The signs people may need signs and easels transported or distributed throughout the hotel. The Souvenir people may need a hand, decorations committee may need help loading or unloading items to the hotel. You will need access to a vehicle, preferably a truck.

Volunteers will send out a letter to treatment centers, programs, etc. inviting them to the Roundup at a discounted registration cost. Additional follow up with the contact person at each facility via phone and email several times prior to the roundup will be required to encourage their registration, answer any questions, etc. You will be provided with any initial correspondence and the list of sober livings, and program centers.

This is a shared commitment (AA & Al-Anon). Teams of 10 people (including team lead) are needed for each time slot. Four people at the main registration (one who will man the credit card iPad), two at the Pre-Registration table, four at the badge/computer table (these need to be people who are computer literate and can type).

Requires a crew of at least 20 individuals whose main job is: 1) Assign six (6) people to cover the doors to main meetings: Opening/Closing, Banquet, Luncheon, Breakfast, Musicians, etc., 2) crowd control (help line people up in registration, keep hallway moving, etc., 3) Security will answer questions from attendees, so they need to know where things are in the hotel such as restaurants, restrooms, meeting rooms, archives. If someone looks lost, help them out and help direct traffic in the hotel, 4) Have individuals roving at all times as well as some in stationary locations to keep an eye on things. You could also have them keep an eye out on the patio/pool, ask people to clean up after themselves, make sure they are not putting cigarettes out on the ground, etc.

Help with running the golf tournament at the Westdrift Golf Course on Friday September 4, 2026. The tournament starts at 7:30am and will end around 11. We will need to hand out waters, organize the groups and collect the closest to the pin winners. More importantly you get to socialize and have fun.
